taxes. Position SummaryThe Occupation Specialist performs
case-management duties to determine the continued eligibility of
Housing Choice Voucher program participants through interactive
interviewing, fact-gathering, and data gathering in accordance with
established SNRHA policies and Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
regulations. The incumbent is responsible for annual
recertifications, interim contracts, and the processing of weekly
and monthly reports. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis announcement

is accountable for performing the following duties and
responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Conduct interviews with families that contain all adults (18
and over) to calculate the client portion of the rent and ensure
that documentation for minors turning adults has provided signed
documents as adults.
- Performs annual, interim re-certification to update the
family's income, asset, and familial status receiving subsidized
housing.
- Verifies information provided by the client using the completed
continued occupancy application, third-party verification from
employers, public and private health care providers for the medical
expense if applicable, and/or the welfare agency or child
support.
- Processes contract paperwork to execute the Housing Assistance
payment after the unit has passed the initial Housing Quality
Standards Inspection.
- Organizes and maintains file integrity and confidential
information for the client's Personal Identifiable Information that
is input into the Yardi database.
- Review requests for tenancy approval packets completed by the
landlord for completed paperwork, signatures, and a proposed
lease.
- Review the rent reasonableness from inspections to verify the
rent valuation report from comparable units of the same type, size,
and amenities. Unsubsidized units within a two-mile radius are
reasonable with the asking rent from the landlord.
- Advises clients on the policies and procedures of the Admin
Plan and the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Ensures that the 50058 (family report uploaded to Housing and
Urban Development) is correct. This announcement summarizes typical

participation in the collective bargaining unit (SEIU), which
represents certain Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority
employees. Minimum QualificationsApplicants who meet minimum
qualifications may be further considered for this position.
Applicants should possess the following:
- High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of program eligibility experience working in the
public sector, social services, or private property management
firms with an emphasis on interviewing techniques and case
management.
- Experience working with homeless or other vulnerable
populations.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, negotiation,
problem-solving, crisis management, and organizational skills.
Preferred QualificationsPreference may be given to applicants who
possess the following:
- Prior experience working with a housing agency.
- Prior Section 8 housing experience.
- General knowledge of social services available to vulnerable
populations within the city.
- Rent calculation certification. Screening and
